“IF!”

About 2,300 years ago, the then-ruler of Macedonia, Philip II, decided to conquer the then-Greek areas around Sparta. Of course, his contemporary Greeks were not enthusiastic about this idea. They resisted categorically. Philipp’s ultimatum was: “If you didn’t surrender unconditionally, I would level Sparta.”

The Spartans replied in just one short word: “IF.”

The rest was history.

It is not easy to communicate briefly, succinctly, or even laconically. The context is often undeniable. However, the art of the lapidary has become unpopular. To be introverted seems to be frowned upon. The motto is that if you talk a lot, you are “right.”

We still admire Steve Jobs’s simplicity. For him was “less – more.” For clarity to appear appropriate, it must be short – simply “laconic.”

Because life can be beautiful if you only want it, simple solutions are often obvious. Complicated management concepts, hypes, manipulative marketing, and political correctness often don’t lead anywhere. But the wheel does not always have to be reinvented if we want to.

Again and again, we experience that facts don’t count much in our business environment – and there is a threat: if we don’t comply, a terrible disaster will happen. If.
